一、in time與on time這兩個詞組都可表示“按時”。

in time : 表示及時。指沒有遲到，時間還充裕。

I got home just in time - it\'s starting to rain.

我正好及時趕到家——隨后就開始下雨了。

If we don\'t hurry up, we won\'t be in time to catch the train.

如果我們不趕快，就不能及時趕上火車了。

We got there in plenty of time (= we arrived early) for the beginning of the game.

introduction : 普通用詞，指任何作品開頭對讀者或聽眾說明或介紹該作品，起引導作用的結論部分，和全書內(nèi)容是一致的。

三、interfere、intervene與meddle這些動詞均含“干涉、干預”之意。

interfere : 側重指無權或未獲允許而妨礙、阻擾、干涉他人之事。

It\'s their problem and I\'m not going to interfere.

那是他們的問題，我不想干預。

I\'d never interfere between (US with) a husband and wife.

我從不會干涉兩夫妻間的事。

Interfering in other people\'s relationships is always a mistake.

intervene : 書面用詞，指介入爭端，進行調(diào)停，也指干涉他人之事。

The Central Bank intervened in the currency markets today to try to stabilize the exchange rate.

中央銀行今天對貨幣市場進行了干預，試圖穩(wěn)定匯率。

The minister intervened personally to stop the museum from being closed.

部長親自干預以阻止博物館的關閉。

meddle : 指干預與自己毫不相關的事或不屬于自己職責范圍的事，隱含未經(jīng)許可或授權。可與interfere換用。

My sister\'s always meddling in other people\'s affairs.

我姐姐總是管別人的閑事。

People shouldn\'t meddle with things they don\'t understand.

自己不懂的事情，就不該去摻和。
